aesculus hippocastanum
Synonyms: Horse Chestnut, Kastana.
Source: Nuts of the Italian oak.
Habitat: The plant Italian oak flourishes well in temperate climates.
Preparation: Mother Tincture is prepared from the hulled nut pounded and mixed with alcohol.
Proved by: Helbig 1844 Buchman 859 etc. Dr. E.M. Hale also proved the remedy later on.


Indications

It is a short medicine. It is a SPECIFIC remedy for the following conditions:

  1. Haemorrhoids : blind, bluish, large, walking aggravates, with pain in rectum after stools, with constipation; with fullness, burning and itching in rectum.
  2. Pains: rheumatic; flying, shooting, wandering; shooting along the nerves; better from warmth.
  3. Leucorrhoea: acrid, dark yellow with backache.
  4. Ailments with lumbo-sacral backache worse on walking or stooping.
  5. Raw sensation and burning with catarrhal troubles of nose and throat.

DOSAGE: It is chiefly used in low potencies, 3rd to 6th potency.
REPETITION: Can be frequently repeated.
DURATION OF ACTION: A few hours.
